There are several things going on in the life of Imago Dei.
First, Imago Dei has finally begun meeting weekly as a core group. The core group is meeting weekly on Saturday mornings. The first of these meetings took place last Saturday. Weekly, we will meet for teaching our goals and values, singing, the Lord’s Supper, and planning. These weekly meetings will be live-streamed and the archived video will be available as well at IDCRaleigh.com.
Second, we are closing in on an initial location. Our elders will meet with the principal of East Millbrook Middle School this week. Please pray for this meeting and for clarity on a desired meeting space. This location would put us in North Raleigh and is very accessible to guests.
Third, all of the initial core team members have made it to Raleigh. We are rejoicing in being able to do life together with our brothers and sisters of Imago Dei. We have been so thankful for the servant spirit of our core team members in helping with all the moving responsibilities. One core team member, Michael Britt, flew down to Mississippi to drive up the moving van for Karen Hoyle. God has been gracious in providing a servant spirit among our people. It is our prayer this will only continue when we move from being a core group to welcoming in guests.
Fourth, we have focused in on our first people group that we will hope to engage in an international context. We will partner with some young missionaries headed overseas soon. This people group will be located in southeast Asia and we hope to provide more information on that in the days ahead.
Finally, we are still hoping to find some gospel partners who will help us financially. We are hoping to find 10 Churches that will partner with us significantly, but are also hoping for individual donors at all levels of giving.
