Why Orphan Care?
1. God cares for everyone made in His image.
2. God has a special concern for orphans, widows, and strangers. (Deut. 10:18, 14:28-29, 27:19; Zech. 7:10; Ex. 22:21-22; Ps. 10:14, 16-18, 68:5-6a, 146:9)
3. God commands His people to reflect His concern for orphans, widows, and strangers.
- (Deut. 24:17-22; Isaiah 1:17-18; Ps. 82:3-4; Prov. 31:9)
- “Visit” (Gen. 21:1; 50:24; Ex. 3:16, 4:31; Ruth 1:6; Matt. 25:36; Luke 1:68, 78, 7:16; Acts 7:23; 15:14)
4. God transformed us when we were spiritual orphans, widows and strangers.
