This Sunday we begin study the life-changing, history-shaping book of Galatians. In this small book, we find big truth. We find doctrine that makes us dance. It is a letter about the grace of Christ, and the freedom that we have in his finished work on the cross. Below is our tentative plan for working through the verses.

You may wonder why we would spend time going through Galatians one verse at a time. Here are a few reasons:
- It’s God’s Word.
- It will give us a rich understanding of the person and work of Christ, which both unbeliever and believer need to hear.
- It will help us see the uniqueness of Christianity. Grace is explained and defended in this book with such power that, if you grasp it, it will change your life.
- It will free legalists from bondage to the system of works righteousness, as well as rebuke the passive Christian who thinks he or she can abuse their freedom in Christ.
- It will encourage us as we look at the “I-have-been-crucified-with-Christ” life of the apostle Paul.
- It will instruct us on the nature and purpose of the church.
- It will help us see how God changes people into Christ’s image: by grace and life in the Spirit.
- It will help us see how the Gospel affects everything, including table fellowship and care for the poor.
- It will cause you to never look at “adoption” the same way again, which may turn your whole life and future upside down.
- It will show us the Gospel in the Old Testament.
- It will show us how the Gospel, the good news about Jesus, must be central in the church.
I look forward to beginning our study with you this Sunday. It’s our second week as a church! Come and invite others.
But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ,
by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
Galatians 6:14
