Who are all the students at the IDC Building?
Next week Imago Dei will be hosting Tim Akin (Student Pastor) with 123 students and leaders from Highview Baptist Church in Louisville, KY, and Christian Anders (Minister to Collegiates and Twenty-Somethings) with 4 LSU Students from Istrouma Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, LA.
What will they be doing in Raleigh (and Chapel Hill)?
These students have decided to give their spring break to gospel mission. They will arrive on Monday night and will spend Tuesday and Wednesday canvassing neighborhoods with 3,000 IDC bags that include a Story tract, Imago Dei brochure, a link to a video from our pastors and a spiritual survey. The Istrouma team will be join Drew Raynor and take Spiritual survey’s up to Chapel Hill to gather information for a future IDC church plant. On Thursday all of the students will participate in local service projects with some of our friends at Rex Rehab Hospital, First Choice Pregnancy Solutions, the YMCA, and others. Many of the students will also get to participate in a Sex-Trafficking Seminar and blitz the community with anti-trafficking posters.
How can you be involved?
First, we ask that you pray for these students. Pray that Christ’s gospel would grow in them and move through them in a powerful way next week. Pray that Christ would be pleased to use this to bless the city and that those who do not know Christ, or have walked away from Christ, would be drawn to Him through this ministry.
Also pray for their travel and fellowship on the trip. Lastly, the students will gather in the evenings for worship, so pray that Christ would be exalted and that the students/leaders would be edified during these gatherings.
Second, we invite you to join these students for a time of worship at 6:30pm Thursday night (April 4th) at the IDC building. The IDC band will lead musical worship and pastor Tony will open up the Scriptures with us.
