IDC would like to make you aware of two upcoming events…
1) The Ordination of Nate Akin, Donnie Hollis, and Matt Sigmon – This Sunday (Nov. 4) at 6pm three of our Elders will be ordained. This will be a special time as we commemorate their role as shepherds at IDC. Although the NT does not necessarily explicitly teach Ordination (it teaches more commissioning by the local church and elders), this is a ceremony recognized by the government so that pastors can officiate weddings and other special events. Therefore, it will be a special time of recognition for three of our Elders. At the Ordination, Tony Merida will share about these three men. In addition, Danny Akin (Nate Akin’s father) and Dwayne Milioni (Matt Sigmon and Nate Akin’s former pastor and the lead pastor of their sending church) will charge the three being ordained. Please try to be there to support our Elders.
2) Covenant Members Family Meeting – Next Thursday (Nov. 8) at 6:30 there will be a time of casting future vision for the church (including next year’s budget), Q&A with the Elders, and a time of worship through musical signing and prayer. This is a Covenant Member Family Meeting and so is only open to the covenant members of Imago Dei. During the time of casting vision, the Elders of IDC will talk with our people about future plans in the areas of missions, church planting, buildings, budgets and more. If you are a Covenant Member of Imago Dei please make every effort to be there. The Elders would prefer that you give this night priority for this week even over your GG time. We hope to see everyone there. For the evening, please bring a dessert to share and IDC will provide coffee and cider…
